Blackhawk/Knoxx NRS Gen II questions

Post by RedEarth »

Interested in getting one of these, but I have a few questions for anyone who has or has used the Gen II NRS stock.

1. I've read that the comb on the stock is too high for a bead sight... anyone have experience with this?

2. Does the NRS also have the Limbsaver recoil pad, or is that just for the recoil suppressing version?

Bonus: If the answer for #2 is 'no' and one had a Limbsaver pad for an 870 (I do) would it fit the BH/Knoxx adjustable buttock?

1) I have the Blackhawk/Knoxx NRS on my 870 with the slug barrel, a friend has the Recoil suppressing stock using the bead site and when I shot it I had no problems looking down the barrel.

2) My NRS stock came with the recoil pad attached right out of the package. Got mine from Dicks for around $60. I have the original pad that came with the wood stock, you may want to see if it fits the NRS stock.

Hope this helps.

I don't know if this applies to the Limsaver Buttpads, but for Rem Supercells, they have one for synthetic stocks, and one for wood stocks. They are not the same fit (cross over). If this does'nt apply to Limbsaver Buttpads, i'm sorry i said anything, just tring to help.

Just my 2 cents: I had the Koxx Spec Ops on a Mossberg 590 SPX and it was really disappointing me. No recoil reduction, and moreover the shotgun had a kind of "shaking" effect with the Knoxx, not just pushing back. This was affecting the cycling speed, and your cheeck to.

I have the Gen 2 on my 870 Tactical using a Burris SpeedBead. Both the barrel bead and the Burris can be used without any issues as long as you do not use the cheek risers.
