I used to load my 1 oz slugs with 44 grains of Blue Dot and that was the perfect load in 3-in shells. Now that they don't make blue dot anymore or it's unobtainable I had to switch to longshot. I've been using Longshot starting out at 38 grains with the 1 oz LBC slugs and that's supposed to go around 14 or 1500 feet per second and if you kick it up to 42 to 43 grains of long shot it's supposed to go around 1700 but I haven't gotten that far yet.
Anybody have any experience loading slugs with long shot?
What would you say for one and 1/8 oz .729 Fosters, 36 grs Longshot??
