These things seem to come and go in my life. I've had or sold probably 4-5 of them in the past, gone without for awhile, and now just got two more. The latest most newish one is a very little-used MAR 2006 production, barrel code AA, and "not" an Express model marked altho' it is all black nitrided finish and has the synthetic stock with grey grip inserts. PO barely used it, as there isn't a scratch anywhere. RemChokes, with one flush MOD choke. No problem as I have lots of RemChokes. 28" vent rib fowl barrel.
I shot an identical model for trap for a few months years ago and did okay with it, but stayed away from doubles. The guns shoot just fine for clays -- it's the Indian, not the arrow. Lots of trap trophies out there fell to 870-shooters.
I had picked up a smoothbore slug barrel, so that is already available to use if a deer catches my fancy.
The other is an older WIngmaster that saw lots of use with a local Bush pilot who had it in the plane in case of unscheduled remote landings (crashes) at non-developed airstrips (forest muskeg). It is worn, but the action cycles perfectly and the wood has "character". This is a project to become an 870 Trap model.
Love these guns.
