UPDATE: minutes after I posted this, Magpul responded.
Apologies on the delayed response. Was doing a lot of digging on this and spoke with the other tech guys. Come to find out there was one run with the Wing masters that had the shorten action slide. Didn’t last long but I’m seeing what model that was to point you the right direction. But unfortunately isn’t compatible with our for end.
That was an odd one of the bunch.
UPDATED QUESTION: what's the best way forward with this?
----------------------------------
I have what I'm guessing is an older Wingmaster 870 with a wooden foregrip.
I purchased a Magpul MOE M-Lok Remington 870 Front Barrel Mount (so I can ultimately mount a flashlight up there):
https://www.amazon.com/Magpul-M-LOK-Remington-Forend-Black/dp/B00QDGFPNM/
Instructions are to remove the Remington 870 fore end tube assembly from the wooden foregrip. That's accomplished.
Then, I'm to insert the Remington 870 Fore end tube assembly into the Magpul MOE M-Lok Remington 870 Front Barrel Mount.
ISSUE: As displayed in the photos, the Magpul MOE M-Lok Remington 870 Front Barrel Mount is manufactured/cut in such a way that the Remington 870 Fore end tube assembly will NOT pass through sufficiently so that the locking nut can be tightened.
Any ideas on what should be done to remedy this situation?
Thank you!
NOTE: about a week ago I was email-discussing the situation with a Mapul rep who asked me "Does your action tube measure about 14 inches?" I assumed that he meant the Fore End Tube Assembly. When that was measured it looked to be about 13". Not sure if this is relevant.
