Hello all from the Great White North

Good day everyone, I hope this message finds everyone healthy and well.

I'm a new member but not new to the site. I have visited many time over the last year or so and it has been a wealth of information. It inevitably helped me choose my first shotgun of my collection which obviously is a Remington 870. I ended buy a mint condition 870 express w/26" vented-rib & bead-sight. I absolutely love the feeling of this thing in my hands and have zero doubts about this purchase.

I will be doing some modifications, Magpul Butt-stock and fore-end, saddle rail adapter, micro red dot and an 18" or 20" barrel. I plan to use it for hunting and training and I 100% believe that it will do both flawlessly. Eventually I will buy another and have both set up for specific purposes but for now this work horse will multi-task.

The one question I have is regarding the micro red dot. I'm trying to find something that is budget friendly but will hold up to the punishment of what this is gonna go through. I'm going to comb through the threads here but I just figured I'd ask the question here as well.

Hello and welcome! What part of the Great White North do you hail from?

Red Dots on a shotgun? The Bushnell Trophy TRS-25 is well regarded, and I've used one on a rimfire pistol, although it is advertised for a turkey shotgun. Less than $100, okay, a penny less but still......https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1325593456?pid=593456

hello and welcome.... we used the Trijicon reflex sight … on our 870's when I was active duty in the Coast Guard. great sight and held zero pretty well.
