To answer your questions, yes and yes! I typically hunt dove and duck, and my 2 year old chocolate lab loves to retrieve both. He made JH at 9 months old, then I took him out of training for a while, but he's recently back in to brush up before the season starts soon...he should be able to make SH by end of the summer.
