Flashlights mounts

Post by 12GAfun »

Hello, I have a Remington 870 Tactical 12ga. (see pics) I am trying to figure out the best way to mount a light on this shotgun, I have found a 190lumen light that is small and compact, but not sure where to mount it. On the forend or mag tube where ?. Will take all advice on flashlights and mounts for this shotgun. Thanks for all your replies.

These are some older pics at this time I do not have that Tacstar side saddle installed, instead I have a ATI 5 shot shell carrier installed on the ATI butt stock. I did not like the side saddle. But everything else is the same.

I got a mount that goes around the mag tube and offers seven locations to mount the light around the tube and 4-5 slots . $15.00 bucks .

Does the flashlight you found mount on a Picatinny rail? If so, your main options are going to be installing it on a magazine tube/barrel clamp, or a rail section that attaches to your fore-end.

It's just a MOE rail section made by Magpul for their fore-ends and hand guards.

I have a Magpul Tactical 870 so I went with a MOE rail short on the left side all the way forward on my fore end and an InForce WML 200 Lumen light. Very light. Works great and the newer WML lights have a switch to put it in a true momentary on mode.

I'm sure you've got this question resolved by now, but that rail mount Synchro displayed is a Magpul Cantilever Rail. It just angles out a bit for clearance. They cost about $8 bucks anywhere.

Hey,

Sorry that i'm leeching off your topic, but i have almost the same issue with a laser sight. What would be best way to attach it. It has a barrel clamp but it might not be the best looking option. That synchronizor barrel/tube clamp seems quite nice. Wonder if below adapters are suitable for picatinny? Does it need a mag extension or does it work on orginal also?

Image

Thats an el cheapo sight from china, but at least the beam is bright and construction seems strong enough. Wonder though that will it withstand shotguns recoil?

This is an option, especially for a laser which should be mounted where it wont move around (like on a fore-end), it simply slides over your mag tube and is made of strong aluminum. In your picture it shows a small 1" light/laser mount designed for a pic rail. This mount i've displayed will give you several options on placement. They sell these on Amazon. The best brand is called LaserLite. Hope that helps.
