870 20g pistol grip

i just purchased an 870 20g and want to change the stock and forend to the hogue pistol grip and forend; i know this is made for the 12g but will it fit the 20? are the bolt hole patterns the same or is it more of a cosmetic problem? if anyone knows or has tried let me know! thanks

i do not think that the 12ga set will fit the 20ga but please do NOT quote me on that. I would actually contact Hogue directly before ordering.

I have found following answer on the Brownells page for Hogue stock: http://tinyurl.com/bnz96hy
"This is only available in 12 gauge. If the serial number of your gun ends in X or N you can use it however."

From what I understand, there are two types of 20ga 870s. The light 20ga uses the same receiver size as the 28ga and .410 870s, while the heavier 20ga uses the same size receiver as the 16 & 20ga 870s. The latter should be able to use the same stocks as a 12ga model.

Mine ends in U, so I guess I would need to find stocks and forends for 20,28 and .410. But which ones would work with the 870? I can't not find a list of accessories that would work on a 870 20ga, do you know if anyone compiled such a list?
