New Guy Checking In from Pennsylvania

Hey everyone,
My name's David. I've been around firearms for years, mostly for hunting and weekend trips to the range. The shotguns I've spent the most time with are a Remington 870 Express and an Mossberg 500. The 870 has always been my favorite because it just feels right in my hands, and it's been incredibly dependable. Mine has mainly been used for turkey and small game hunting, but it also sees plenty of action busting clays with friends during the summer.
My 870 is still mostly stock, although I swapped the factory recoil pad for a softer one after a long day of shooting left my shoulder reminding me I'm not 20 anymore. I'm also thinking about trying a shorter barrel setup for a different role, so I've been reading through a lot of the accessory threads here.
Besides shotguns, I shoot a couple of handguns and a .22 rifle every now and then, but shotguns are definitely what I enjoy the most. I like learning how different loads pattern, trying different chokes, and figuring out what works best for different situations. There's always something new to learn.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone here. If anyone has a favorite upgrade for the 870 that made a real difference, not just something that looks cool, I'd love to hear about it.

PS - Where abouts in PA? I grew up there (Philly and Gettysburg) but now live in Alaska.
