Hi everyone,
I recently started using my Remington 870 for hunting with slugs and would like to improve my accuracy compared with the bead sight setup I used before.
The bead sight worked well for birdshot and closer distances, but now I’m shooting slugs at around 50–75 meters and would like something that allows for quicker target acquisition and more consistent aiming.
I’m interested in hearing what type of optics or sight systems other Remington 870 users are running for slug shooting. I’m working with a limited budget, so I’m mainly looking for something reliable, simple to install, durable, and offering good value for the money.
Any recommendations or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Welcome and howdy. It all depends on how your 870 is set-up. Is the receiver tapped for scope mounts? Then that is the obvious path. A cheap alternative is the "saddle mounts" that fit over the receiver and engage the receiver pins. Or a third alternative is to get a slug barrel that may have a cantilever scope mount or barrel mounted scope.
