Newbie in Missouri

Post by magnum55 »

Hello all. I just recently acquired an 870 Wingmaster, my first 870. Tried looking up when it was made on the rem870 sight and
with the duplicate codes in was either made in 1970 or 1999, lol. Has L T for the code serial #1022848V. Are there any other
distinguishing marks or parts etc ? Good to be a part of this crow. I havent even shot it yet and I already love it. Image

Hello and welcome. As an aside, that barrel date code is only indicative of the barrel, which are interchangeable. The only true "when was it born" info used to come from calling Remington support, but word is that is sketchy now with the legal proceedings, sale, and breaking up of the company.

Stay tuned, somebody may have a serial number close to your that can give you approximate info. I seem to recall a serial#-date-range table somewhere, but will have to check.

Email Remington, I emailed them with my serial number and some other questions and they got back to me.
