Hi all.
I lost my serial number on an old 870 Wingmaster purchased in August 1981.
It was stolen from my truck in Jan 2013.
I went to my parents house this weekend and dug up an old receipt.
I can't identify which of the numbers might be a serial number.
I'm hoping you can help me out.
I did contact Remington for help, but I'm also posting here as they haven't responded.
Attached are two images of the receipts.
Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.

Re: New Guy: Stolen Weapon Help Request
Was the gun purchased new, or used? An 870 that was new in 1981 should have a serial number that starts with a "V", followed by several numbers, then another letter at the end (probably either "V" or "M" if it was a 12ga). I don't see anything like that in the images you provided.
A bit of a long shot, but if the outfit that originally sold the gun is still in business, they may have the transfer paperwork still on file. I doubt they'll just let you dig through it, but if you can give them the specific date, they may be willing to look for you.
