I bought a +1 extension for my 870 12.5"bbl. Do I need a longer spring now or will the original one be OK for the +1?

The original one will probably work for general range shooting, but you're going to be cycling the gun quickly under recoil, a stiffer magazine spring designed for the longer tube space would be a good idea.
