Glad to have a new 870 12 ga. express as i have not owned a shotgun for around 20 years. I picked my 870 up today and was surprised to see that the stock and metal work was not really very good.I have cleaned and shot about 30 rounds and really do not mind what it looks like because it shots great. Now to get ready for turkey season ............

Welcome to the forum.
Expresses are utility-grade shotguns, meant to give you something functional for a low price. The internal mechanics are the exact same as the higher-end Wingmasters though, so once you break it in and slick up the action, an Express does the job just fine.
