Mesa Tactical Magazine/Barrel Clamp for Tactical Shotguns Review

The Mesa Tactical Magazine/Barrel Clamp for tactical shotguns is a two-piece clamp made of 6061-T6 aluminum which is lightweight and sturdy. The Mil-spec Type 3 hardcoat is anodized to withstand hard use.

So, what is the purpose of the barrel/magazine clamp? It holds the magazine extension more securely to protect it from damage in case of bumps. Hits are very common when you actually use your shotgun for hunting, training or home defense. Just remember that if you hit something with your magazine extension and it brakes, then the spring, follower and all the ammo will just fall out of the magazine tube. If the magazine tube nut stays in place, then you will be able to put your shotgun loading rounds into a chamber. But if the magazine extension and magazine tube are broken, the barrel will not stay in place while making the shotgun useless.

ACE IN THE HOLE

Williams Gun Sight Co. has a variety of sights for shotgun, rifle and handgun platforms. I will begin this review with the W.G.S. Co. Ace In The Hole fiber optic ghost ring with an integrated 1913 picatinny rail for the Remington 870 shotgun. The Ace In The Hole is designed for drilled and tapped receivers. This ensures a rock solid fit which further helps to maintain a constant zero. Gunsmithing is required to drill and tap the receiver unless the Remington 870 has already been drilled and tapped. Ensure that the screws included will work with a previously drilled and tapped receiver by calling Williams Gun Sight Co. and asking them directly.

LaserLyte Center Mass Laser on Remington 870 Shotgun Review

This is very interesting upgrade I’ve had a lot of fun with. LaserLyte Center Mass projects a ring of eight green laser dots with one green laser dot in the center and many smaller dots. The circle grows at one-inch per yard and you can see approximate pattern of s shotgun shot with birdshot or buckshot.

LaserLyte Center Mass is very compact, lightweight and easy to use.

One of the attributes that makes the venerable Remington 870 so flexible is the fact that its magazine can easily be expanded without having to change out the barrel or the base magazine tube. It’s not surprising then, that magazine extension options abound for the 870, and an extension is often one of the first things to be considered when planning a build.
