I just read the review via the FB page, and my question is, will it work on an 18" barrel?
I have an old 2-3/4" Wingmaster that I've been piecing together for about a year. I know I want to add a shell carrier and some good sights, eventually.
Thanks for giving me a place to ask dumb questions! lol I truly enjoy what I read here.

20" Mesa rail question
Yes sir. My 870MM IS an 18" barrel. The 20"'s includes the 3 - 5" or so over the receiver. If you don't have a mag tube extension they make a single barrel clamp model for that specified need. But as I said, this single tube clamp will only fit 2" picatinny and no QD sling points.

As you can see the first model w/o shells in it is the single barrel clamp and the second w/shells is the barrel clamp/mag extension. Besides the minor difference up front in the clamp and front mount they are identical.

Thanks for the explanation, it clears it up a lot. I'll get my funds together and make a decision real soon.

Re: 20" Mesa rail question
After reading that Mesa Tactical 20' rail review. I only have one thing to say and that is I need it. I have looked at the Aim Tech Warhammer mount and it looks way to big and bulky for the shotgun. This looks a lot sleeker and cleaner. I get stuck shooting my 870 at a rifle range a lot and I have to shoot slugs. I have a standard bead sight and I think this and a red dot would be awesome. SO glad I visited this thread, and for that matter found this site.
I have one more question. I have that MOE forend from Magpul on my 870 as well and I was wondering if any trimming was involved in fitting this rail system. I would rather not have to trim my forend or the rail system for it to fit.

Re: 20" Mesa rail question
Yup, just purchased a 20 inch rail, 6 shot she'll carrier and of course the standoff pins to keep from marring the finish. Pretty sure u can purchase a 2 inch pic rail and mount a sling mount to it.just bought the urbino stock from them today. Are u going with a single point or traditional 2point sling mount? They also have a gasket that will also help from scratching key pint of contact. You would have to request that though. Good luck!

If you're just looking to add a red dot, there's no need for a full-length rail. You just need something on your receiver.KillEmAll148 wrote:After reading that Mesa Tactical 20' rail review.
