recoil buffer questions

Post by Stevebski »

So I'm looking at picking up a mesa tactical Leo stock adapter for my 870 in the near future. I would like tosnag one of the recoil buffers sold paired with it but they are on back order for an unknown time frame. If I were to build a recoil buffer from scratch, am I wasting my money? Should I just wait? What parts do you experts recommend I put inside the buffer tube? Are there specific kits i'm missing somewhere? I've found some unreviewed buffers online but really don't want topay twice for what I want o achieve if I should just wait it out.

I can only imagine that a considerable amount of time and money have gone into engineering the Endine or similar buffers. Maybe it's something that someone just came across and it happened to work but I don't think I would want to try and fabricate something from scratch. If you have experience with such things and don't mind throwing money at it, then why not give it a shot (with proper safety precautions).

recoil buffer questions

The Enidine Buffer is a Hydrolic Buffer, not some spring loaded piece of shit like the Blackhawk. I wouldn't expect to to be able to duplicate something like this without serious experience and even more serious (expensive) machining tools.

I know this thread is a bit old at this point and maybe you've already taken care of this, but CMC Government Supply was where I bought my complete Mesa recoiling stock - when everybody else was OUT OF STOCK (and more expensive) - CMC had it in stock, shipped the next day. I don't know if they have just the recoil components separate or not, but might be worth a look.
