Speedfeed Bird's Head Pistol Grip Only Stock

Post by reeps »

Hey guys, I know there is a general hatred of PGO stocks here, but I shot yesterday with the bird's head and it was amazing.

With #8 birdshot I could aim and hit targets easily, with light recoil.

With slugs I could aim and hit targets but at a slower rate to readjust.

With less lethal buckshot I could shoot seven rounds simultaneously with NO RECOIL.

Haven't tried it with normal 00 buck.

My wrist did not hurt at all. Even with slugs. I probably shot over 100 rounds no problem. It was the same as any other stock in that regard. My mind was blown.

So for all of those wondering about pistol grip only setups, go with the bird's head.

I wouldn't say I hate pistol-grips. I own one, and it's a lot of fun to play around with. I just recognize that with the exception of a very few specialized military/LE roles (such as door breaching), the lack of a buttstock only makes the gun harder to aim and employ effectively. If the short overall length is absolutely necessary, a folding stock can be just as short, but still allow the gun to be aimed properly.
