Barrel question
Barrel question
Would a marine magnum barrel fit onto an 870 express? I am wondering because my 870 was a 4+1 and marine magnums are 6+1 and think there could be a conflict.
Re: Barrel question
I think the marine magnums that I have seen are all 4 round tubes with a +2 extension so I would say you would have no problem. It all comes down to the mag tube length, most 870's are 4 round guns and anything more is added via an extension tube. Now some of the H/D and Tactical guns are coming with a one piece 6 round mag tube. The only problem is barrel interchangeability. Check out a few of the threads, synchronizer has plenty of the two for comparison.
Barrel question
I am was curious about where the ring connects to the mag tube. I was wondering if they are at different lengths along the mag tube in 4+1 magazine tubes and 6+1 magazine tubes.
Re: Barrel question
Look at this thread, give it a minute for the pictures to load, (synchronizers post); It clearly shows the difference between the two.

Here are my notes on the subject: Haven't yet come across a 3+1 870 MCS or Special Field that I could take apart and measure.reeps wrote:I am was curious about where the ring connects to the mag tube.
