I've always been enamoured with Remindton shotty's though I've never owned an 870. I have two 1100's - One is "Big Bertha" an 1100 Tactical with an 18.5" barrel that I've modified with an integrated Surefire fore-end, LPA ghost-ring sights, aluminum follower, DMW carrier release, etc. It's SO nasty looking the cat and dog hide under the bed when I take her out.
A total utility piece. My other 1100 is "Isabelle", and she is a refined lady. She's completely stock with a 22inch blued barrel, scroll work and bead-site.Anyway - I enjoy doing some gunsmithing (former machinist with no machine tools) but have remained focused on AR's and 1911's. That all changed upon my purchase of a pair of 870 police trade-ins that are barrel-less but include Surefire integrated fore-ends. Are we seeing a pattern here? Anyway - these are both project guns" and I'll be restoring them. One for me, one for my son.
