Help: looking for a black ops 2: rem 870 mcs rail

Post by ibn3rdc0re »

So I finally got around to playing cod:Bo 2 and I'm in love with the 870 mcs. It's a pretty straight forward build, except I can't the upper rail....... Anyone played it yet?

I don't play CoD, but I have heard about the in-game MCS.

I don't think that rail is a real accessory; but there are a number of top-rail options for the 870 out there if you're willing to pay for them. Finding something that'll work with the sidesaddles might take some searching, or some custom work.

The CoD MCS isn't really accurate to the real thing:

If you manage to build a replica of the in-game 870, I'd love to see the finished product (though I can tell you right now, the gun in the image you provided won't have an 8-shell capacity).

Yea..... Now that I'm thinking about it, the part was probably design for the game as a near future version like most the other weapons. The only thing that would even come close is the "ati-side saddle & add a shell system.

Mesa Tactical makes something similar:

The trick would be putting the extra 2-shell holder on the right side. That would take some custom work to match exactly, but there are stocks out there that would get you pretty close:

For the rest of the gun in that image, my best guesses for parts are:
>870 Magnum receiver with a standard 4-round magazine tube
>+1 extension:
Image
>14-15" ported barrel with a breacher choke
> SureFire fore-end with integrated light:
Image
>Barrel clamp with a side-mount sling attachment
>Picatinny rail-mount front & rear ghost-ring sights

I can tell you ahead of time, this build will not be cheap.

Also, you can try longer upper rail, it looks very cool:

That would be even better; it could be cut down to match the length of the rail on the game's shotgun, and probably even mount those short side rails.

I like the full rail look...... It's a lil blurry but I found this, it looks about the same...... Gonna look for a better one.

That looks pretty good. The top rail appears to be a cut-back full rail, but I can't recognize the actual part from that picture.

The rest of the build looks pretty close, too. The barrel's longer than in the game picture, the sights are different, and it's missing the shell carrier and breacher choke; but I would say those differences actually make it a more practical weapon.
