Greetings from the true crossroads of the west (Utah)
Just wanted to introduce my self, I am a long time 870 owner. I purchased my 870 express I think about 18 years ago at the Kmart across the street from the apartment we were living in after some scumbag climbed up on our carport roof and tried to pry open the window to our nursery at 2am (he actually tried a ground floor window first, but I had the track jammed shut with a wooden rod). while my wife was sitting with the lights off in a rocking chair in the same room nursing our 6 month old daughter.

Welcome to the forum, that story of yours sounds scary. Nice old school look on that shotgun by the waybigjim wrote:Just wanted to introduce my self, I am a long time 870 owner. BETTER TO BE JUDGED BY 12 THAN CARRIED BY 6

bigjim, welcome to the forum! I think most of the Remington 870 owners here bought shotguns for home defense.

Good-golly-Ms.-Molly, that's a freaky story. Glad to hear you guys took sensible steps to protect your family; there are people in this country working to make that harder and harder to do these days, I'm sorry to say. I hope you and your wife both put in the practice time to build and maintain proficiency.bigjim wrote:I purchased my 870 express I think about 18 years ago at the Kmart across the street from the apartment we were living in after some scumbag climbed up on our carport roof and tried to pry open the window to our nursery at 2am (he actually tried a ground floor window first, but I had the track jammed shut with a wooden rod). while my wife was sitting with the lights off in a rocking chair in the same room nursing our 6 month old daughter.
That furniture looks like an older-style Choate set, if I remember correctly. I'm not sure if they make them anymore, but I've seen used sets pop up from time to time. Is that shoulder stock detachable from the pistol grip? I've seen separate pistol grips that look very similar, but without the stock.
