My "other shotgun" aside from my Remington 870 Express is a ca. 1983 Smith and Wesson/ Howa 3000 that shows plenty of exterior evidence of being in a Pontiac, Michigan squad car for about 25 years, but is very clean internally and broken in. While the S&W/Howa 3000 is a close copy of the Rem. 870 design, it is just different enough that many accessories--like side-saddles for extra shotgun ammunition stored on the gun--don't work. Well, I'm mighty glad that I recently purchased a four-shell velcro detachable shotshell carrier from S&J. I never saw advertisements or anything like that until I started perusing this blog and forum! S&J service was prompt! Installation was easy! A perfectionist might quibble with having velcro on the gun, but as I said, it was an old police cruiser that sat on the dashboard through bitter winters and muggy summers.
I think I'm going to get a five-shell version to mount on the right side of the butt-stock for both my Remington 870 and the Japanese Smith shotgun.
