870 special barrel

I have a Remington 870 special with a 21 inch barrel. Does anyone know if there’s a company that makes a 28 inch barrel that will fit on my gun because my magazine tube is shorter than a standard 870?

Sorry, in my limited knowledge, I don't know of any 28" barrels that fit on the Special. Evidently some did come with a 23" barrel. However I do think a longer barrel would defeat some of the purpose of the Special. I'm guessing it's going to be easier and more cost/time efficient to buy another 870 set up like you want.

OK, I did not know They made a 23 inch barrel for that shotgun I use the shotgun now for turkey hunting, which is fine. I’m looking to start using it for pheasant hunting and I figured the longer barrel would be better for that.

Yes, you can find a 28-inch barrel for your Remington 870 Special. Check Remington for OEM barrels or aftermarket options like Carlson's or Mossberg.

I suggest you read the link I posted.

...because of the special mag tube length, Special Fields can not accept other 870 barrels, only special barrels with guide rings set closer to the chamber. It is possible to move the guide ring on an 870 barrel, but you'll have to pony up for some professional gunsmithing work if you go that route...

It is unlikely that a standard 28-inch Remington 870 barrel will fit directly onto your Remington 870 Special without modification.
