Carlson, Uncle Mikes and Allen Choke tubes.
Carlson, Uncle Mikes and Allen Choke tubes.
I was at academy looking for a stock shell holder for my 870 and I’m the area with the shotgun accessories I noticed they had 870 20 and 12 gauge chokes by a few different companies. I saw that I a know of Carlson Allen and I think Uncle mikes brand. I didn’t look to to hard at them. I want to say for one choke tube Carlson brand was $20 I’m thinking if maybe getting a IC Choke to put in my 870 for slugs and buckshot since I know the modified choke tube I have in it now isn’t ideal. Has anyone ever used these and if so are they good quality and is the $20 for one a good deal?
Re: Carlson, Uncle Mikes and Allen Choke tubes.
I've used Carlson's and Trulock chokes in all of my shotguns, even the extended choke tubes in my trap Beretta. Fact is I couldn't tell ya what was in what gun, as any performance failure on the trap line isn't due to the choke as far as I can tell. Or maybe I should use that as my excuse!
But they all make good chokes, or even look for the basic Remchoke usually also carried.

Thanks. I was just glancing at the Chile section and didn’t see any rem chokes that’s what I’m planning on getting.

Some folks swoon over chokes, and some very esoteric names. But then they'll argue all night over tactical mag lites.
