Hello, looking to upgrade the forend of a 12G 870 with extended tube.
This is a nut that I don’t have a wrench for and it’s really tight. Not looking to bugger it up if possible, can anyone help me find the right wrench/tool?
Thanks,

Re: Hello, looking for guidance w/ removing this ring...
I had the same issue a couple months ago after returning from overseas and taking down my neglected shotties during that absence...I used Channellock wide jaw pliers and a leather strap, it really helps to place the receiver in a vise without overtorquing it of course, and keep an eye on the process cause the jaws can pierce the leather. You should use the lowest pressure on the jaws that still enables you to turn the coupler with deforming it or buggering up. You should hear the break point when it loosens, a quick little snapping sound. Proceed by hand after that. Best,

A small strap wrench works well

A little heat may help also.

All excellent suggestions.
Might try some penetrating oil too, like Kroil or PB Blaster.

On mine I found the detent ball wasn’t moving well making it hard to unscrew the collar.
I’d drip a bit of lube down the space between the tube and collar and a bit between the collar and the barrel brace.
That should lube the threads and hopefully the detent ball.
Should make the leather and pliers more efficient
