hi. Greetings from Ireland. Just inherited a 870 from a good friend's late father. Its a winemaker in 12 gauge. Has a 25 inch barrel with a Lyman adjustable choke.
Legally here it has to hold only 2 rounds in the tube and 1 in the chamber. It took two months to get licence even though I already have other firearms. Ruger mk4, Stevens 311 12g, Lee enfield no4 and remington 597 in .22wmr.
Any tips or info on the adjustable choke. Never knew they existed till now.

Hello and howdy from Alaska, USA. Does your choke look like a large bulb on the end of the barrel, not a screw-in type? I had a similar device, called a Cutts-Compensator.

Howdy lad, and welcome. The adjustable choke should rotate, and have indexing marks showing what choke you're setting...sort of like a caliper
