The newest new guy... NY lefty ;)

Hi all. Found Vitaly's blog during a search for more info on my new Remington 870. Grabbed his kindle version of the 870 guide which is great.

I'm finding out a lot of things now that I'm concentrating on learning. I recently discovered why I always had trouble in the past with aiming a long gun. I'm a lefty with a dominant right eye... turns out pretty common but I never knew there was such a thing. So much more to learn. All I can really do right not is read and watch videos and dry practice with dummy shells I purchases. NY and all states around me are essentially shut down regarding any shooting ranges and I live in an area where you can't even discharge a bb gun in your yard... love NY.

Welcome! I learned the same issue - right handed but left eye dominant. Always been a rifle shooter so shooting trap "by aiming" has done me a-ok. I think it's too ingrained in me to functionally change to left-handed shooter.

Small world, I'm lefty right eye dominant also. I have great vision so it's never been a problem for me.
I shoot right eye with pistol's left eye with rifle and shotgun's I grew up on Long Island, N.Y.. It sound's like you might be from the area!
When I was a kid it was gun friendly, not so much anymore!
I got the heck out of there year's ago! That when the state brought all of the criminal out from the city!
Destroyed lot's of good town's! Illegals' gangbanger's now!
