Plano, TX.

Post by Chef Duane »

Hello from Plano, TX! Glad to be here. Just bought an 870 Express 28" and am looking to become more aware about its capabilities, functionality, and possibilities for upgrades and/or mods. I also own a Maverick 88 for home defense that I have converted to a pistol grip. I also have a Miroku Charles Daly 12g O/U Trap that I use for clays. I am a firearms enthusiast with a number of other guns in my collection and am strong 2A supporter and a TX LTC holder. My EDC is a Ruger LCPII with SIG V-Crowns. I am also a Veteran of the US Coast Guard '77 - '83.

I do have one immediate question if I may,.. What magazine tube extension would be suggested if one wanted to match the length of the extension to the length of the 28" barrel? That is so both are the same length. I'm thinking a +5 or +4. They don't have to match up completely.. say within an inch or so with the extension being of lesser length than the barrel (no 'underbite').

Lastly, for those who are curious.. yes, I am a professional chef. I'm 60 years old and a career changer - used to be in high tech and was able to leave that profession for one that is MUCH more fun and rewarding. Been a chef for about 15 years. I am currently a personal chef and also do culinary instruction.

Thanks!

Well howdy from South East Alaska! Congrats on your 870. I don't run mag extensions, so someone will be along to answer that for you, but you may find the answer in some of the Tactical threads and pictures. Jump right in and enjoy the site!

Hi Guys. It is not BBQ sauce, it is just Hot sauce. Personally, I don't even like BBQ sauce. I think that the Carolina Reaper is still the Guinness Record holder for the worlds hottest chili pepper.

Far as I know the recent development of Smith's Komodo Dragon Pepper is the hottest pepper on record with 2.5m Scoville Units. Developed by a guy in Wales. The Jolokia (aka Ghost Pepper) comes in a close second with 2.4m Scoville Units. The Carolina Reaper was formerly the world record holder at 2.2m Scoville Units.

Good info. So it seems like the "professional chef" market is booming on YouTube. I subscribe to a Brit chef named John Kirkwood that does online recipes from his restaurants that are all Brit comfy food like raised meat pies. The Great British Baking Show is another favorite of ours. You still working as a chef or retired?
