SureFire DSF Forend Worth it?
I've been considering getting a SureFire DSF Forend for my 870 (Used for Home Defense) for a while now. They are pretty pricey, but they look like they are the best way to mount a light to a pump action shotgun. However, I read one review saying that the space for the user's hand is very limited due to the flashlight taking up space, along with not being able to get a firm grip on the weapon when your hands are sweaty, due to the material used on the forend. That was really the only negative review I came across. I must say, it looks really cool and effective, but I'm not sure whether I want to shell out almost $400 for it. I just wanted to get some insight from users on here who currently have them installed onto their 870s, so I can make an educated decision on whether to buy it or not.

It definitely seems like one of the best but I have a hard time wanting to spend as much on a forend as I did on the entire gun. Have you checked out the Magpul forend? Only$30 and you can mount flashlights directly to it. A lot cheaper option.

On my scatterguns, I use an elzetta mount, and a 150 lumen AA light. Altogether, total cost is under $60.

I use the EOTech light forend on my 870 pump. Looks atrocious, and is a somewhat slick polymer, although fortunately it has deep grooves. It has a finger stop at the front, which would be great for a SBS. It'll bite ya every now and then in full recoil, however. For my usage, I think it is ideal. I recall it was way less expensive than other alternatives, particularly the Surefire.

Do they still sell the Eotech one? i did a google search and couldn't find any sellers.
