I am looking for any positive and negative feed back on the Choate +3 mag tube extension kit for the Remington 870.
I was using the Wilson combat +2 mag kit and that metal plate started to rattle really bad. It was also coming loose at the range the last time but I discovered that this was because I forgot the wave washer after cleaning it. Because before it never came loose.
I am returning it too Brownell's for a exchange for the Choate +3 mag tube kit. My other question is do you have to cut down the spring with that kit so you can feed all the rounds into the tube. Also does that plastic follower work. I have heard mixed reviews on this kit and am hoping that I didn't make a mistake by sending back the Wilson combat.
The reasons for returning:
1. Metal plate rattle
2. The weight of the mag tube
3. upon my last cleaning noticed rust inside the tube.
4. some feeding issues and reloading issues.
5. With the use of a Magpul forend and AFG the metal plate at times would hit the AFG and with out it since I like gripping the forend high it would hit my hand.
6. Barrel mounting a light. I have a 3,6 and 9o'clock mag tube rail mount and with the metal plate it was harder to mount and use it correctly. At least me me.
Thanks for all the replies
