Non-MIM Extractor
When did Remington start making MIM extractors? I have several 870s built in the 1970s, but have not had them apart to check whether the extractors are MIM. Wikipedia says MIM did not come into wide use until sometime in the 1980s, so I'm betting they are forged.

aegusto, you can see difference between MIM and non-MIM extractors on the following pictures:aegusto wrote:When did Remington start making MIM extractors? I think MIM extractors are just cheaper to manufacture.

Re: Non-MIM Extractor
You don't have to take the gun apart, MIM extractors can be identified by the raised gate mark on the outward-facing surface, as well as overall more complex and refined geometry (which would cost extra for a machined part, but not for a molded part).
