Cheesehead in Central Valley CA
Hey I'm a Northern Wisconin Navy guy stationed in California's central valley. I have been shootin since I was 7. I'm a huge fan of the 870. I own 2, a beautiful Wingmaster 12 ga. that shoots flawlessly and this spring I picked up a brand new express that has had some trouble extracting shells. I have been tinkerin around with that express, I put a remington shurshot stock and forend on her and an 18in police barrel to make a sturdy home defense gun for the wife while Im at sea, that I can switch to the 26" vent rib on weekends to blow holes in the sky.

Welcome to the forum.
A lot of people have issues with shells sticking in the chambers of new 870s. Normally this is due to the poor quality of cheap steel-based bulk-pack shotshells. The 870 isn't a picky eater, but when the chamber is brand-new and not broken in yet (or hasn't even had the factory grease cleaned out), these bottom-end shells can be difficult to extract. Expresses are rougher out of the box than higher-end 870s, but once you get the gun broken in it should work much better, even with cheap ammo (though there are still some brands - like the Winchester Universals - that are best to avoid with any shotgun).
