Hello from Frank

Post by Frank173 »

Hello to all,
I was born and I live in Italy. I'm a shooter gun that has been fascinated with shotgun and, for me, shotgun = 870 REM :)

Currently I am the owner of a REM 870 Express magnum to which I applied the Magpul Stock and forend.

I'm going to buy a REM 870 Magnum Police prepared by NightHawk USA.

Am I right? How the Police is better than a normal 870?

Thanks

Frank

p.s.: Sorry for the google translation

Frank, welcome to the forum! Do you know that next World Shotgun Championship will be in Italy? :)

Here you go: Differences between Remington 870 Express and Remington 870 Police

Thanks a lot, Vitaly.

Wow! When and where in Italy? I can not fail, at least as a spectator. You will participate?

Bye.

That's an old list, and it's not completely accurate anymore. We've discussed the differences between Police and civilian 870s here before, this thread specifically goes into details.

In a nutshell, you get a higher-quality finish with the Police, more inspection and human attention during assembly, and a smoother action out of the box. Other than that, they're the same design, and the major components (barrels, receivers, etc) are manufactured the same way using the same materials. There tend to be differences in features, and some small parts, but that depends on which civilian model you're comparing the Police guns to, and anything that comes on a Police 870 can also be installed on an Express or Wingmaster.

Specialty builders like AI&P Tactical & (I've been told) Wilson Combat both build their high-end custom 870s by upgrading and refinishing Expresses, because they know it's the same gun. Odds are Nighthawk does this as well.

Ok thanks, I realized that the differences are minimal.
I'll also take a look at the 2 link that you have proposed.
Bye.
