Inquiry on laser bore sighters...

Just wondering what everyone's experience has been with this tool? Are they effective and dependable? Was about to purchase one for quick sighting with the new sights ill be reviewing... What is everyone's opinions on them and can someone recommend a brand?

I've seen them used on rifles. I'm sure they'd work on shotguns as well, as a tool for the preliminary sight-in before taking the gun out shooting and fine-tuning things.

I considered picking one up when I got my rifle-sight barrel, but I ended up just dropping a turkey choke in and shooting some cheap birdshot to get the sights within the ballpark.
