Mesa Tactical Leo 870 Adapter Q & A

Post by Gummy »

Hey guys, new to the forum and just got my first 870 Tactical Express. I bought the shotgun with a prety speciffic plan in my head on what to add to it but I just wanted a 2nd opinion one a few of the items. I've been reading a lot of customer reviews and different sources but no one really addresses the Mesa Tactical LEO Adapter on it's own.

I wanted to skip buying the whole recoil kit they sell with the stock and grip because I've already got the tan Magpul Miad grip and Moe Stock laying around. But I'm not sure which buffer tupe set up would be the best for this. I have some cheap ones laying around and I don't know if any one will work just fine or if I should go all out an buy a VLTOR tube. Or convince me that I need to buy the recoil stock if that's really what works best for this set up, I'm really not scared of a little kick.

Any other tips you can think of would help, I've found the cheapest price on the adapter on Amazon @ 63.99.
Any reason to buy the extra recoil pad for the MOE stock? Seems like it couldn't do much.
Any Tube going to work better than another with this Adapter or the MOE stock, it's comercial size
I've been told a MOE Pistol grip would have to be modded to fit, and the Miad does not.

I'll put some pictures as the gun shapes up.

I'm a traditionalist when it comes to shotgun stocks, but I'll answer what I can.

Recoil might become an issue if you're running a fixed stock meant for a light-kicking AR-15. I don't know what the recoil pad on the MOE is like, but there doesn't seem to be much to it. If can't soak up the much stronger recoil of a 12ga, it may be rough on your shoulder.

If you're talking about the .7" pad, the venting will probably make it more comfortable than the solid ones that the stock comes with, but I don't know much more.
