Call BLM. They know the spots they allow on BLM land. Here it's a rocky area in the desert in another county, not ideal, but the spot in this county is closed due to fire risk. And you never know what knuckleheads will be there.

I did some checking through their website last night after your suggestion. Any place close to me is all Trap shooting clubs, any “public range” where I can use a shotgun for something other than Trap is about 80 miles or more away.

I guess I gotta keep snooping around
