It would be tough to run something all the way down to the trigger area on a pump gun and still keep it secure. I guess a pressure pad on the front of the grip area (similar to the DG surefire switches) would be the most practical for activation but you'd have to run a cord from light down the barrel and along the receiver. I don't think it would be practical.Good choice...I am working on one - the TLR2 - but can you put a "remote" swich on these things so you can turn the light on and off from the trigger area?

Streamlight TLR-1 or TLR-2 is a very good choice, here is my review: Streamlight TLR-2

I just added a Travis Haley version of the Inforce light, 200 lumens/momentary on/off only to my 870 duty shotgun. Magpul furniture with it and it is an awesome setup. Replaced my integrated Surefire system. I LOVE THE SET UP!!! Just completed a two day shotgun class and it rocked!!!

I'm actually gonna pick up a HSP version soon also. I like that he had it simplified to bump up the lumens. The version I have is the nicest one Inforce makes with momentary, strobe, and IR but its only 130 lumens. It's a great light and anything over 120 lumens is considered a "weapon", due to its ability to incapacitate. Thinkin I'm gonna switch the 130 to my new carbine and pick up the straight forward 200 for the pump.
Re: Advice on quality flashlight...
Not necessarily the Surefire. Yes they are great lights and captured the market fast and early, but you now pay a premium for their "name" on top of a quality light. I've got a Maglite that i've had and carried around since the early 90's and it still works great, it's a good flashlight. Now for weaponlights. If i had a choice between a free Surefire X200 or a free Streamlight TLR-1 HL, i'd take the Streamlight. The Streamlight is C4 LED Technology and is waterproof and shockproof as well as putting out 630 true Lumens for 2.5 hours of continuous use, and its got a no excuses lifetime warranty. It puts out such high illumination (hence-HL) to light up the whole room and let you maintain your peripheal vision. If i'm awakened during the middle of the night and am half asleep, i like the idea of lighting up the whole room to see if i've got a problem and be able to deal with it.Look at it this way, if both a Surefire light and a Streamlight were on the table in front of you and you could have either for FREE which one would you pick? MStarmer
If Surefire was simply a huge leap in quality, i'd go with them, but Streamlight is a great quality light, and a great value.

Streamlight and Surefire are my first choices. Especially Streamlight's HL series is my favorite. No light can last forever, but some light will last longer than others, and it will be cheaper to replace. Streamlight is like that! It emits a lot of light and has a nice center point.JBall wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2013 3:13 am Looking for a decent tac light for HD 870. Somethin under 200$ is preferable. Was contemplating a Streamlight TL4. Does anyone have any suggestions or any any reasons this wouldn't be suitable for a shotgun rather than just a pistol? Also please any other suggestions. One with a laser would be a plus...
