Here is my HD version of my 870. (I also have a UTG Tactical pistol grip stock and 28" vent ribbed barrel).
The bayonet is really just for pictures and fun, it isn't on whenever I have the 870 under the bed or locked away.

Remington 870 Express
Mossberg 18.5” Security Barrel CYL M Blue
Nordic +2 Magazine Extension
GG&G Enhanced Follower
Speedfeed Bird’s Head Pistol Grip Stock
Hogue Tamer Forend
Tacstar 4-Shot Side Saddle
Streamlight 88850 Polytac LED Flashlight
Elzetta Tactical Flashlight Mount
HiViz Fiber Optic Shotgun Sight
Laserlyte Serrated Pistol Bayonet (just for kicks)

I like the HiViz. Did you remove the front bead?

Nope, left it on, it helps me make sure it is aligned. However it is only useful with an actual stalk on. You cant really bring it that close to your face with the birds head.

Do you recall the model number and site or store where you picked it up? I would love to grab one myself.

It's the HIVIZ MPB LightPipe front optic sight. I have one for my bead-sight barrel as well, I just got it off the shelf of a local sporting-goods store. I had to modify it to fit around my magazine extension clamp and the bead sight pedestal on my Remington barrel.

It's very visible, but the sight element sits lower than the stock bead on my Remington barrel. I was shooting high for a while until I figured out how to adjust for that. It also kind of flimsy, and tends to shift around under heavy-recoiling shells. If you want something really high-visibility for close-range point shooting in good light, it's a decent bang for the buck. If you want something more accurate though, I'd look elsewhere.

I have the Burris FastFire with mount for a red dot on my 870 but wanted something easier to aquire to replace the bead. This might be the ticket. Thanks!

Here's an image of my modified sight, if it helps. The kit comes with 4 different pipes in two colors and two sizes.

I was looking at the XS Big Dot site as well. It fits over the existing bead. And is also good for low light / no light. Thank you again for the info.

These things aren't that great as they move around frequently. Here is a pic of mine so you can see how I use the bead to try and keep it aligned.

The Bayonet is actually centered it just looks weird from that angle.
