I have a feeling the pricing you’re quoting, your location may have a lot to do with it.

I’ve been following the SOLD prices of 870s on GunBroker and any in shops I’ve managed to see in California and $500 to $700 is a typical range on nearly any 870 model.

The only shotguns I’ve seen in my area in the $300 range are new ones out of Turkey or similar counties or shotguns older than I am (65)

First time poster...looking for info.
Where did you find the mag extension for your 870 16 gauge?? What brand? Are mag extensions universal in fit to where they fit 12, 20, and 16?? Everywhere I look only specifies 12 gauge, except for one, of which I was skeptical. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Could have been his Dad's don't know. Was in an old cloth type gun bag. It is in great condition. I will consider any advice other than wacking the barrel off and giving it away. Kinda thought about a tactical gun but that might not be possible. Never heard of a tactical 16 gauge with a 28.5" barrel. Did notice Federal has a new to me 16 gauge #1 buckshot, but really want a 12. Are 12 and 16 gauge barrels inter-changeable. will a 12 gauge 18.5" Rem 870 barrel fit. May the Guru Gods speak to me. Thank you
Its ok

What one can do though is look at what has been bid on to get a better idea on what people are willing to pay. Again, on Gunbroker, the two 16ga 870s that have bids on them are sitting at $601 and $750.

That's my limited experience with the 870 16ga. Of course, somebody else's driving conditions and milage may vary. :!:
Nonsense. It is easy to see what stuff sold for. Just do an advanced search and click "completed items" and it shows everything that ended and what it sold for. Just like eBay.

So you know of another way to get info from Gunbroker. That's great you posted it. What is nonsense is for you to comment on my experience.
