Remington Modular Combat Police Forend
Remington Modular Combat Police Forend
Does anyone know if Remington sells the Forend that comes with their Modular Combat System (MCS) as a stand alone part? Inkjisnthey dont likw selling there LENor "military" stuff to civilians. Also, I've heard it'll work with the new model tubes assemblies because they are smaller. Anyone know for sure if there is any truth to this? Or if ya know where i can get one lemme know!
Re: Remington Modular Combat Police Forend
My admittedly limited understanding is that the forend on the modular MCS is strictly a dedicated part for that particular shotgun only. For what it may be worth, my EOTech IFL has the similar forward hand stop, although the grip is somewhat different given the light below the magazine tube...

Yes I've seen that that is a similar shape. I would of course get the 618 (200 Lumen) if I were going to spend the money but I just can't get over the 320$ price tag or whatever it is. I really like the AFG(1) I have on there now but really like that MCS Forend. If I really get a "hand stop itch" thats gotta be scratched ill replace my AFG with Magpul's new handguards and call it a day. I know I've read that the newer style assemblies will work...anyone have any personal experience? Don't wanna go through trackin one down for a hassle.DaveC wrote:My admittedly limited understanding is that the forend on the modular MCS is strictly a dedicated part for that particular shotgun only. Re: Remington Modular Combat Police Forend
As far as I know, the only thing special about the MCS receivers (aside from how the stocks attach) is that they use a shorter 3-round magazine tube; necessitating a different location for the barrel guide ring and a shorter fore-end.

Remington's parts list shows no MCS-only action parts aside from the fore-end tube assembly, so while the tube may be shorter, My guess is that the action bars should be the same as on a normal 870 fore-end. If that's the case, there should be no problem running an 870 MCS fore-end & tube assembly on a standard 870 Magnum.

The two parts you're looking for are:
F301113 870 FORE END TUBE ASSEM MCS (MODULAR COMBAT SYSTEM) SHORTER TUBE 12 GA $34.00
F403318 870 FORE END 12 GA SP SYN BLK MCS (MCS ONLY - NOT INTERCHANGEABLE WITH OTHERS) $34.00
Neither of these are listed as LE/military-only on the list, but Remington might still have some policies against selling these to just anyone. If so, you may be able to get around it if you order just through part numbers, but you'll probably want to do your homework and make sure everything's compatible first.
