upgrades for my new 870 rem tactical

hi im new to this forum. i purchased a 870 tactical last week. i ordered a magpul stock and forend for it in black should be here next week. i purchased a side saddle for it one of the 6 shell tacstar's. thanks great forum. some really nice builds on here. i have a door breacher choke tube on it will probably take it off and put a improved cylinder on it dont really need a a door breached choke tube for home defense. i also ordered a gg and g follower, s and j hardware over sized safety. will add a magpul sga sling stud for my magpul stock later and a one point or two point troy battle sling as i have these on my ar's and they are great!

Just got a magpul 870..... added the rails and light up front and added a sling mount kit on stock and got a magpul qd sling for it... very cool.. post some pics when you get a chance.

I think that came standard with his Magpul model. Receiver is factory drilled to accept the top rail. Lucky guy. He also has the barrel I want. My Tactical came "Plain Jane" except for the the longer one piece magazine.

Some 870s come with tapped receivers to accept scope mounts or top rails. These are usually higher-end tactical models, or slug- or turkey-hunting guns. More basic models, and those intended for bird hunting or clay-shooting, don't have tapped receivers; but they can be drilled and tapped by any competent individual with the right tools.

Looked at a Magpul version about a month ago but I just couldn't' get past the price. Not to say that it's not a lot of gun for the money (as long as it's set up the way YOU want) but I think for an 870 it's still priced a little on the high side. The Cerakote does make for an outstanding slick feeling though.

Now get out and beat that thing up!

Is that the low or high riser on your Magpul stock? How is the AFG working out for you on the front stock?
