Hi everyone,
I'm Matt. My interest in the Remington 870 started almost by accident. About eight years ago, I was helping my uncle clean out his garage before he moved. Tucked away in the corner was an old 870 Express that hadn't seen much use in years. We spent an afternoon taking it apart on a workbench, cleaning off dust and old oil, and getting it back into shape. I remember being surprised by how straightforward the design was. Even as someone who wasn't very experienced with shotguns at the time, I could understand how everything worked. That shotgun ended up coming with us on a few weekend trips, and it gradually became my favorite to shoot. Since then, I've owned other shotguns, including a Mossberg 500 and a semi-auto that was supposed to be the "upgrade." The semi-auto was softer shooting, but I never felt as connected to it as I did with the 870. There's something satisfying about running the action on a pump gun that just never gets old. These days, I mainly use my 870 for clay shooting and the occasional bird hunt. It has plenty of scratches and wear marks now, and every one of them reminds me of a trip, a rainy morning, or a day at the range with friends.

Hey brother, good to have you. That's an awesome rendition of the life of an 870.wWhen I was young,my great uncle gave me a Remington 870 Wingmaster 16gauge, thenI bought an 870 express, when I was a kid. I still have the Wingmaster.

And now I use the Remington 887 12 gauge. I like the ability to shoot 3 1/2" buck and slugs, I like the weird polymer coating on it,and I like its versatility. Just like the 870. I've got three barrels for my 887, a 28"Remchoke, an 18 1/2" tactical Remchoke barrel,and a 22" rifled slug barrel.

I enjoy loading my own slugs.

Hi everyone,

I thought I’d share a little about how I first became interested in the Remington 870.

About eight years ago, I was helping my uncle clean out his garage before he moved. We found an old 870 Express that had been sitting unused for years. We cleaned it up and spent the afternoon getting it back into decent shape.

At the time, I was still fairly new to shotguns, but I quickly became interested in the design and how everything worked. The 870 eventually came along with us on a few weekend trips, and over time it became my favorite shotgun.

I’ve owned a few others since then, but the 870 is still the one I feel most connected to. There’s something special about an old firearm that has been with you through so many memories. Mine has picked up some scratches and wear over the years, but those marks just remind me of the trips and days at the range that I’ve enjoyed.

What got everyone else here interested in their favorite firearm?
