TAC 14 with Wilson Combat +1

Post by Ryanj52 »

I picked up a TAC 14 and removed the magazine dimples and installed a Wilson Combat +1 well I can’t load five 2 3/4 shells with the Wilson Combat mag follower that came with the kit. If I put the Remington follower in I can just squeeze the 5th shell in. The 2 mag followers are different the Remington is hollow allowing the spring to collapse inside while the Wilson Combat is solid. Has anyone else had this issue. The wilson combat spring is about 6 inches longer than the Remington I tried both springs and it didn’t make a difference.

Thanks Ryan

I encountered the same issue with my TAC 14 shotgun when using the Wilson Combat +1 magazine extension kit, where I couldn't load five 2 3/4 shells with the provided follower.

That sounds frustrating, especially after doing the work to remove the dimples and upgrade the extension. The solid Wilson Combat follower taking up more space makes sense as the culprit, especially with shorter shells. Some people end up trimming the spring slightly or sticking with the OEM follower if capacity matters more than matching parts. When I’m researching fixes like this and taking a break from tinkering, I’ll sometimes unwind with something simple online like https://onga.io/ quick distraction before getting back to problem-solving. ;)
