Remington 870 small parts question

Post by gregoryrodrig »

Hello,
I purchased a used Remington 870, but I'm not a fan of the furniture that came with it. The price was good, so I went ahead with the purchase. When I removed the plastic rail, I didn’t realize that the screws securing it also held the trigger group in place. Now, I have screws that are too long, and I'm unsure where to find the correct screws to secure the trigger group.

Plastic rail? Screws? I’m not following you, but I’ll make a guess….. Sometimes people install a plastic side saddle that holds additional shotgun shells. And, there’s also optic type mounts made of plastic. These accessories require the removal and replacement of the trigger pins/fire control pins.

You should identify what parts you need.

The Remington 870 uses 2 pins that hold the trigger group into the receiver. These are technically called Trigger Plate Pins. The front one is smaller in diameter, and the rear one is larger in diameter. They lock into the trigger group by a D-shaped Spring Clip that is attached to the bushings on the trigger group. GunPartsCorp has them in stock.
