Remington 870 Magnum thoughts?

I'm looking into purchasing a pump action 12 gauge shotgun. Been looking into 870s, and everyone recommends the older ones if you can find them. I've heard the 870 wingmaster is a great pump action, but thats out of my price range. However I found a 870 magnum that I'm looking into getting. I just want to know everyones thoughts on them or other recommendations they may have. The gun is $450
