I picked up a Target Sports 12 gauge 28" ribbed barrel that came with 3 chokes from CDNN for slightly more than a Benjamin for skeet shooting with my 870 express. Other than the chamber was rough & needed some work with a power drill and 0000 steel wool, its working out pretty good.

The 28” Remington I got was a bit more even though used. Came with three chokes all clean, no gouging, rust.

a 20" barrel isn't optimal for skeet or trap.https://aking.io/free-online-games/ Most shooters in 12-GA start at 28" and some go to even 32". I shot trap with an 870 Wingmaster with a 28" VR barrel and 1" extended screw-in chokes. Also, you'll find that MOD isn't much good except at 16 yards. For longer handicap or 2nd shot doubles, a tighter chokes is called for. Both my barrels on Beretta o/u have IMP.MOD or LightFULL.

My 870 TC Trap has a 30 inch barrel with full, extra full and super full chokes.
You're right, a 20" barrel isn't the best for skeet or trap. A longer barrel, like 28" or even 32", helps with swing stability and follow-through, which is crucial in those disciplines. Fitting your 20" barrel for choke tubes could still make it versatile, but you’d likely want tighter chokes like IM or Full for trap shooting beyond 16 yards. I agree that MOD might not be ideal for the longer distances or second shot doubles. The right choke really depends on the specific shots you’re planning to take.
