Talk about other firearms: rifles, pistols etc.

CZ buys Colt

Post by Scorpion8 »

Wow. Hadn't heard anything about this until CZ pulled the strings. CZ is a well-managed, well-run organization and the CZ 83's that I own are legend. I just wish they had bought Remington.

I agree I wish they would have bought Remington, but I am glad that they got Colt. I am sure that the quality of Colt will be improved especially on the 1911s.

The story I heard was that CZ wanted an inroad in case of pending firearms import restrictions. Since they already did 1911's under the Dan Wesson brand, perhaps we'll see their CZ-versions made here. I've always coveted a Cold War Commemorative Red Star CZ-75.

CZ's reputation for quality firearms and their well-managed operation was undoubtedly a driving force behind this acquisition. The CZ 83's, which you mentioned owning, continue to be admired for their reliability and performance.
