Cheek slap-Blackhawk stock

Post by Jamie »

I just ordered a Blackhawk SpecOps GenII recoil absorbing stock. I researching it I read a couple of reviews that complained of 'cheek slap', one or two being bad enough to remove the stock! I think I know what it is, (cheek slap), but not completely sure and why some suffer it. I just bought the 870, don't intend to shoot it till I get the new stock. The main reason for it is to fit the wife better, don't see the point of shooting the gun with the 'stock' stock and then relearning with the new one.

Jamie, I think that Gen II doesn't have the problem with cheek slap. I've heard that it was fixed.

It would be interesting to hear what you think about it when you get it.

Vitaly, waiting on it to be delivered, I hope you're right. Can't wait to give you some feedback, ('cause that'll mean I went and shot it!)

Just placed a Gen II stock on my wifes service 870. Had the NRS on there, bruised the shit out of her shoulder. Put the recoil reducing stock on, and had to put a BH Powerpak on has well, because of the hieght of the Eotech MRSD. With a good check weld, there is no slap. But take the Eotech off and try to use the iron sights. Stand by for a slap. Our neighbor and her both took two slaps before saying thats enough. Now we also took off the Gen II recoil reducing stock to compair the difference between the two stocks. Looking down the ghost sight, with out the Powerpak gave no slap. So I think that it is a pearsons technic, or set up that will cause it. Not the stock in and of its self. Great stock, and accessories for it.

Hey Jamie, Here is the gun I built. We have the Blackhawk specops gen II on it. With the PowerPak on it and my wife and neighbor both got some slap when trying to use the ghost sights and not the Eotech. She still has some cheak brusing from last weekend.
Let me know what you think of the build.
