Hello, all! First post here.

I joined the forum after many hours of searching the forums for users who had bought the 870 Express Trap; unfortunately, I got nowhere as this model is fairly new and no one has posted anything on it yet.
Welcome! Ya had to huh, just HAD to post those pics. Now I really, really, REALLY want one and the last thing I need is another shotgun!

Great shotgun for the money! Only thing I’d do is put an aluminum follower, Volquartsen extractor, police magazine spring, and an 1100 carrier spring then that thing is set for lifetime of shooting for less than $60.

I agree with all those upgrades except for the safety. Why the need for an oversized safety....on a trap gun? when I shot trap with my 870 Express Synthetic I didn't even use the safety since you don't load a round until it's your turn at the spot. If you plan on taking the gun out looking for foul or other winged pre-food, then I can see the need. But for trap? Nah.

Yes, sir you are correct. I will be potentially taking this 870 out for some hunting so I thought the safety upgrade was needed. What kind of barrel did you use during trap?

Just the standard field 28" ventilated rib barrel with RemChokes, upgraded to a Carlson's improved modified choke for trap. I planned to hunt with that shotgun, and figured if I couldn't hit a clay I had no business pointing it at a duck. The only reason I moved on from the 870 in trap was because I got addicted, and wasn't able to master doubles with a pump gun. I know LOTS of the old time masters used 870 Wingmaster Trap Specials, but they had more time to practice the fast cycling than I did. Doubles with an o/u is much more sane.

Timney Trigger Fix and Non-MIM Extractor are in! Fairly simple to install both. I've installed the blue spring for the trigger at 2Lbs of pull & new sear - the trigger feels incredibly responsive! (granted I've loaded dummy rounds into it for now).
